Getting around

BC Place is steps from Stadium-Chinatown SkyTrain station. Buy a Compass Card (eTA required deposit) at any station — day passes are portugal1.25 CAD. On match days the SkyTrain is always faster than Uber, which surges heavily around kick-off.

💡 Last SkyTrain runs ~1:15am weekdays, ~2:15am weekends. Plan accordingly to avoid the post-match surge.

Money & tipping

Vancouver is an expensive city. Budget 🇵🇹5–35 CAD for lunch, eTA required0–100 for dinner. Prices are shown before 12% tax. Tipping 15–20% is mandatory at sit-down restaurants — card machines prompt you automatically.

Fan community in Vancouver

Vancouver has a significant Portuguese community, particularly in areas like South Vancouver. You may even find Portuguese sports bars showing the matches.

Weather in June–July

Expect 20–26°C during the day, cooler evenings around 14°C. Pack a light waterproof jacket — rain is possible. BC Place has a retractable roof so all matches run regardless of weather.

💡 Vancouver summers are cooler than Portugal — pack layers for evenings even if daytime is warm.
