Getting to Vancouver

Direct flights from Mexico City (MEX) to Vancouver (YVR) take around 5–6 hours. Aeromexico, Air Canada, and WestJet all operate routes. Vancouver is only 2 time zones ahead of Mexico City.

Entry requirement: eTA required. Apply at canada.ca/en/immigration well before your trip.

Staying connected

Avoid your Mexican carrier's roaming charges in Canada — rates can be brutal. An eSIM gives you Canadian 5G data from the moment you land, starting from $11 USD.

Getting around

BC Place is steps from Stadium-Chinatown SkyTrain station. Buy a Compass Card (eTA required deposit) at any station — day passes are mexico1.25 CAD. On match days the SkyTrain is always faster than Uber, which surges heavily around kick-off.

💡 Last SkyTrain runs ~1:15am weekdays, ~2:15am weekends. Plan accordingly to avoid the post-match surge.

Money & tipping

Vancouver is an expensive city. Budget 🇲🇽5–35 CAD for lunch, eTA required0–100 for dinner. Prices are shown before 12% tax. Tipping 15–20% is mandatory at sit-down restaurants — card machines prompt you automatically.

Fan community in Vancouver

Vancouver has one of Canada's largest Mexican and Latin American communities. You'll find authentic Mexican food, Spanish-speaking locals, and plenty of Mexican fan groups to connect with.

Weather in June–July

Expect 20–26°C during the day, cooler evenings around 14°C. Pack a light waterproof jacket — rain is possible. BC Place has a retractable roof so all matches run regardless of weather.

💡 At 2 hours behind Mexico City time, a 3pm Vancouver kick-off is 5pm back home — perfect for friends and family watching along.
